Every listing I take features a dog available for adoption at the Grand Strand Humane Society. It is part of my Closings for Paws commitment. Every closing generates a donation to the shelter. Every listing puts a dog in front of people who might not have been looking but end up falling in love anyway.

When I listed Kelly's property, she noticed the community tie in I have to the Grand Strand Humane Society. Kelly asked me about it. One conversation turned into another, and she wanted to sponsor adoption fees for dogs who just needed a little extra help getting to the right home.

Together we collaborated with Grand Strand Humane Society to select eight dogs. The standard adoption fee is $120. For these eight, it is $60. The rest is already covered. This is not about giving dogs away. It is about making it a little easier for the right person to say yes.

People tell themselves they are too busy for a dog. Long hours, full days, not enough time. It sounds responsible. It feels like the right reason to wait.

But here is what is happening while you wait.

These dogs woke up this morning in a 4x4 kennel. They ate alone. They slept alone. They pressed their nose against the gate every time someone walked by hoping, just hoping, that this was the time someone stopped.

They will do it again tomorrow. And the day after that.

A dog who goes home with someone who works long hours still has a warm bed, a full bowl, a hand on their head at the end of the day, and someone to run to when the door opens. That is not a compromise for them. That is everything.
